brings it all back and

reminds you of when you were a kid

when things seemed simpler,

but weren’t.

It reminds you of backyard sunshine and

feet in the grass

of carnival rides

of friends who weren’t friends

and getting the August Blues.

It reminds you of back to school shopping

and flip flops on painted toes

parade floats, root beer floats

and hot back seat car rides

Playing in the hose in the front yard

waving as cars pass by…
